Formlabs Form 2

The Form 2 is a desktop stereolithography (SLA) 3D printer that uses a laser to cure liquid resin into solid parts layer by layer. In dental applications, it's used to produce highly accurate models, surgical guides, clear aligners, night guards, and custom trays. The printer features automated resin handling, a heated tank to maintain optimal printing conditions, and wireless connectivity. It offers a 145 × 145 × 175 mm build volume and can achieve layer thicknesses as fine as 25 microns, making it suitable for detailed dental appliances requiring high precision.

Features

  • Stereolithography (SLA) technology, which involves a laser that cures liquid resin into a solid object, allowing for incredibly detailed prints with a smooth finish
  • Automated resin system that refills the resin tank during printing to ensure uninterrupted printing, which is particularly beneficial for long print jobs
  • High laser precision, as fine as 25 microns, making it suitable for applications where detail is paramount
  • Intuitive touchscreen interface that facilitates easy management of print jobs
  • Offers a variety of resin types, including standard, tough, durable, flexible, high temperature, and castable resins, enabling users to choose the ideal material characteristics for specific applications
  • Supported by Formlabs' own PreForm software, which is designed to prepare and manage print jobs easily
