Our focus

Dental implants and in-house CEREC crowns

Two treatments we plan and make with our own digital equipment. Here are the facts, including who they suit and the risks.

Missing teeth

Dental implants

An implant is a titanium post placed in the jawbone to replace a tooth root, then topped with a crown, bridge or denture.

  • Planned in 3D: a CBCT scan shows bone, nerves and sinuses. Printed surgical guides, made on our Asiga ULTRA, can be used where suitable.
  • Possible benefits: eating more normally, and a replacement that feels like a natural tooth without changing the teeth next to it.
  • Who it may suit: adults with enough healthy bone and gums. Smoking, diabetes, gum disease and some medicines can affect healing.
  • Risks: infection, nerve injury, sinus problems, damage to nearby teeth and the implant not bonding with bone.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

Damaged teeth

In-house CEREC single-visit crowns

Many crowns, inlays and onlays can be designed, made and fitted in one appointment, without a temporary crown or a second visit.

  1. Scan with our Dentsply Sirona Primescan instead of impression trays
  2. Design on screen to fit your bite
  3. Mill from a ceramic block on our CEREC MC X5 or MC XL
  4. Fit, polish and check your bite

Who it may suit: broken, cracked or heavily filled teeth. Some cases are still better with a lab-made crown. Risks: sensitivity, chipping, and the tooth may later need root canal treatment.
